Step-by-step guide to playing Blackjack

Place your bet

Receive 2 cards

When the dealer shows an Ace, Insurance (side bet protection) is offered. If the dealer has Blackjack, the Insurance bet pays 2:1. However, experts generally advise declining Insurance when looking at long-term results.

Soft Hand — a hand where the Ace is counted as 11. Hard Hand — a hand with no Ace, or where the Ace can only be counted as 1. With a Soft Hand, the risk of busting is lower, so you can hit more freely.
